Movers Are Coming

Well tomorrow the movers are coming and all of our stuff will be packed up. Im not sure if I have taken out everything we want to take with us when we travel but I guess I'll know when I go to look at it and its not there. I cant wait till this move is done. I just got back from Manitoba last night and Im already stressing. My house is a disaster and I dont even know where to start cleaning. My husband keeps telling me not to bother until the movers are gone, but I cannot stand my house being dirty. Im also dreading the fact that starting tomorrow I will be living in a hotel room for the next 16 days. Ahhhh. Im really hoping that the drive down will be good and the kids wont complain and scream to much. I have toys, movies, books and snacks all pack in the car for them. Im sure everything will be fine and once we get there it will be so worth it. Thats it for now, hope to meet some of you women very soon.

Hi Jo-Anne. I have been following your posts and it all seems too real. I have been trying to comment but just recently figured out how! I was an army wife 5 years ago when we got posted to Gagetown. Your stresses about selling houses and house-hunting and packing and moving and driving are VERY familiar. If I had to do it again, I would sit back and relax more. The packers are excellent at what they do. I know there are lots of horror stories but we never had a single issue. Not a thing was damaged nor lost. I was really nervous about the condition of my house before they came and spent the entire night cleaning behind couches and shelves.....for nothing. They are too busy and do this too many times to pay attention to dirt! lol As for the drive, we drove two vehicles out which meant that I had nobody to share driving time with me. We both camped and stayed in hotels so we got to experience a lot on our drive. The military compensates you very well for meals and hotels so enjoy your journey. There are some beautiful sights across Canada (I have driven it 5 times now!) so take it all in because once you get here you will be busy again on the other end. I found the community here was fantastic and super friendly. I was worried about how I would do coming in to a small community. It sounds like you are an outgoing person and you have been making contacts here already. There's tons to do here and I think it would be helpful to just get out and experience many of the things that New Brunswick (and closeby regions too) have to offer. I am a shy person and held back a bit but once I got out there, a whole other side of me came out!!! (Oh....our dog REALLY enjoyed camping on the drive here! Hotels not so much!)Can't wait to meet you!
